We would like to inform you that Google has recently announced a significant change that may directly affect you.
Starting on January 2026 (01/01/2026), Gmail will no longer function as an email client and webmail for third-party providers.
What does this mean in practice?
Simply put, if you have connected work or personal email accounts (not @gmail.com) directly to your gmail, you will no longer be able to manage them from within gmail.
Gmail is no longer supporting the following features:
Gmailify
The ability to connect third-party email accounts to Gmail, such as Outlook, Yahoo, or your own domain's work/personal emails, will no longer be available.
Until now, this feature allowed you to take advantage of Gmail features such as spam filtering and inbox organization.
Starting in January 2026, accounts connected via Gmailify will stop syncing.
Checking mail via POP
Gmail will no longer support receiving messages from other accounts via the POP protocol. This means that you will not be able to manage messages from external mail servers from within the Gmail environment.
What you can do
To continue managing your emails normally, follow these steps:
Choose a different email client
Try solutions like Outlook (Microsoft), Thunderbird (Mozilla) or blueMail for mobile devices, so you can keep your domain emails flowing and in sync.
Setting up IMAP/SMTP accounts
Through your hosting package's cPanel, you can view your email account settings to set up IMAP email on various devices.
This way, you will maintain continuous access and synchronization of your emails, without being affected by the changes brought by Google.
